Keep America Safe, have you joined?

The mission of Keep America Safe is to provide information for concerned Americans about critical national security issues. Keep America Safe seeks to influence public policy by encouraging dialogue between American citizens and their elected representatives in order to produce legislation and executive action that enhances the national security of the United States.

The United States remains a nation at war. We face a growing threat from rogue regimes that seek or have already obtained nuclear weapons. America’s interests are challenged by an authoritarian China, a resurgent Russia, and dictators in our own hemisphere who ally themselves with our adversaries. Amidst the great challenges to America’s security and prosperity, the current administration too often seems uncertain, wishful, irresolute, and unwilling to stand up for America, our allies and our interests.

Since 9/11, the United States Government, through our armed forces and our intelligence and law enforcement professionals, has succeeded in preventing any further attacks on the American homeland. This is a major achievement. By turning away from the policies that have kept us safe, by treating terrorism as a law enforcement matter, giving foreign terrorists the same rights as American citizens, launching investigations of CIA agents, cutting defense spending, breaking faith with our allies and attempting to appease our adversaries, the current administration is weakening the nation, and making it more difficult for us to defend our security and our interests.

Keep America Safe believes the United States can only defeat our adversaries and defend our interests from a position of strengh. We know that America has, for 233 years, been an unparalleled force for good in the world, that our fighting forces are the best the world has ever known, and that the world is a safer place when America is trusted by our allies and feared and respected by our enemies. Keep America Safe will make the case for an unapologetic approach to fighting terrorism around the world, for victory in the wars this country fights, for democracy and human rights, and for a strong American military that is needed in the dangerous world in which we live.

You Wanted It, You Got It, Obama #45

Mao Mania from our White House Communications Team?

Imagine this ... Obama Communications Director Claiming Mao One of Her ‘Favorite Political Philosophers'

The story: The feud between the White House and the Fox News Channel took another, thanks to one of Glenn Beck's viewers. On Beck's Oct. 15 program, the Fox News host played a video sent to him of White House Communications Director Anita Dunn, who had previously slammed Fox News and called it an organ of the Republican Party. In the video, Dunn reveals her two favorite political philosophers - humanitarian Mother Teresa and Mao Tse Tung, Chinese revolutionary and Communist leader responsible for an estimated 70 million deaths (video embedded below the fold).
"A lot of you have a great deal of ability," Dunn said. "A lot of you work hard. Put them together and that answers the ‘why not' question. There's usually not a good reason and then the third lesson and tip actually comes from two of my favorite political philosophers - Mao Tse Tung and Mother Teresa, not often coupled with each other but the two people that I turn to most to basically deliver a simple point, which is you're going to make choices. You're going to challenge. You're going to say why not. You're going to figure out how to do things that have never been done before, but here's the deal."

Didn't Al Gore win a Nobel Peace Prize too? Yeah ... Hmmmm.

Ludicrous. On both counts.

The story of Obama and the Peace Prize "for hope." Gimme a break.

Unemployment Forecast and The Saviour's Stimulus ...

Interesting data about the economic stimulus, what was "forecasted" vs. reality. Yeah.

The entire story.

An Agrarian Morning

I did it.

I actually got up at 6:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning. Drove to the Wylie Barn with my little girl. She loves horses. Ms. Linda is a wonderful horse lady who lets my girl help feed the horses, clean the stall and play with the itsy bitsy kitties that race around, pounce around and seemingly own the place.

And while my gilr does her work with Ms. Linda, I sit in an old plastic lawn chair. No computer. No book. No radio. Nothing. Just sitting. And seeing something I haven't sensed in a long time.

Natural beauty. Skyscraper-sized oak trees bursting with greenery. The coo of white doves and the clacking of flocking pheasants that run scattered and senseless around a nearby field. There's dirt and doo, a mustiness from the hay and recent rain; even the deep smell of old, burnt motor oil, thanks to the clunkering farm truck that's less than six feet from my chair.

Relaxation, just breathing in the outdoors. Sneezing, thanks to the wall of hay. Enjoying the horsey neighing of hungry horses. Seeing Blossom, the genteel lady donkey who loves her ears scratched. There's Rocky, Angel, Whose-It and other horses peeping over their stalls, seeking attention. And food.

I fell back into boyhood. Big trees, empty fields, lotsa mud. And thousands of places to hide, run, play Cowboys & Indians. And lots of animals to chase, catch and woo with kind words. So many kitties and cats. Mama cat couldn't get enough attention and scratching behind the ears. She stayed close to me. One young kitten batted
around an unlucky cricket. Another watched with curiosity, unable to resist the temptation of pouncing, playing and swiping its paws at another.

And there I was. Nature held me hostage, put me in a trance and welcomed me back to The Original Man. The Agrarian Man. The Man of the Plow, The Land, The Fruits of His Labor. It surged through me as if I was designed to dig, unearth and master the dirt, the dogs and cats, and animals.

I reflect and wish I felt the peace again. I sense regret and feel disappointment. I find my soul resisting my suburban, city-slickin' ways. It was quite an Agrarian morning.

Nitty gritty, dirt and dung. So naturally appealing.

So country.

"There's A Snake In My Boot!"

That's not just a funny line from Toy Story's Woody (Tom Hanks).

There was a REAL snake in my boot. This one:

I had left my boots on the front porch, brought them in on a Saturday evening, then Sunday morning I was putting my boot on.

"Dang kids, put a toy in my boot again."

So I pull my foot from the boot, look in and began to reach in when I see this wrangling, wiggling SNAKE near the inside heel of my boot.

I was proud of myself.

I didn't scream like a girl. Cry like a baby. But I did get a really cold shiver down my spine.

Rat snake, bull snake? Dunno.
